🌍 The Story of a Dreamer in the Storm

Mateus is one of those boys who remind us why the RockSmith Club exists. From the very first day he heard about the project, he insisted on joining — saying, with a sparkle in his eyes, that it was one of the big dreams of his life. Even without resources, instruments, or many opportunities, he showed up — determined not to miss the chance to be part of something that could give him direction and hope.

For us, having him in the program is essential. Mateus is at a delicate stage of adolescence, surrounded by harmful influences. He lives in a squatter area, in a very humble wooden house, where every day is a challenge. Around him, the reality is harsh — filled with drug users and dealers — an environment that can easily swallow a young person who lacks purpose.

His family faces many material and emotional hardships. They do not belong to any church or religion; they simply live day by day. Yet, even in this lack of structure, there is something different about Mateus — a genuine desire to change, to learn, to find a better path.

During our visits, we talked with him and his family about the importance of having a purpose in life. We explained that life is not just a random sequence of days, nor a matter of chance — that God has a wonderful plan for each of us. No one is meant to live “like a leaf in the wind,” drifting without direction. We spoke about dreams, goals, and the power of believing that a new story can be written, even when the beginning was difficult.

Today, Mateus remains steadfast — learning to play, gaining confidence, and discovering that music can be much more than sound; it can be a bridge, a shelter, and a force for transformation. His dream of joining RockSmith Club has become our dream too — to see young people like him finding meaning, purpose, and a future filled with hope.
