Introduction
(I. 05/21/2024)** The happy music is playing and happiness filled the air, children dancing in the street with a newfound confidence. Mikael, a boy once lost in the shadows of despair, now beamed with pride as his feet danced to anew beat. This was no ordinary performance; it was a testament to the transformative power of love and opportunity, a melody born from the ashes of hardship.
Background
(II. Hell’s Inn)** In the heart of Belem, a neighborhood known as Hell’s Inn casts a long shadow. Its streets, riddled with poverty and danger, offered little hope to those trapped within its grasp. This was the reality that young Mikael knew all too well.
A somber update from Escola Pequena Luz. In May 2024, Operations Director Adam Negrao reports on the challenging circumstances surrounding Mikael, a situation that deeply affects us all.
The Struggle
(III. Mikael’s Story)** Life had dealt Mikael a cruel hand from the start. With his parents incarcerated for drug trafficking and theft, he and his five-year-old brother were left adrift. A kind neighbor, already burdened with two grandchildren, took them in, but her resources were stretched thin. Desperation led them to the care of an uncle, a man lost in the throes of addiction. Abuse and neglect became their new normal, eventually forcing them onto the streets, where they scavenged for scraps and faced constant danger. While child protection services found a foster family for his younger brother, Mikael remained invisible, unwanted, forgotten.
The Rescue
(IV. A Glimmer of Hope)** But even in the darkest corners, hope can bloom. Escola Crista Pequena Luz, a beacon of light in the heart of Hell’s Inn, became aware of Mikael’s plight. Rocksmithclub.org, an organization dedicated to rescuing children from the clutches of despair, joined hands with the school. “We want him! He is important!”, they declared, recognizing the precious soul hidden beneath layers of hardship.
The Transition
(V. Life at Little Light Christian School)** Stepping through the doors of Little Light Christian School marked the beginning of Mikael’s transformation. The school, with its bright colors and warm atmosphere, became his sanctuary. Regular meals replaced gnawing hunger, and the echoes of laughter chased away the memories of fear. He discovered the joy of learning, the comfort of friendship, and the unwavering support of caring adults.
The Church of Rock
(VI. The Impact of Support – 06/30/2024)** During a vibrant Vacation Bible School week, the First Baptist Church of Rockville embraced Mikael’s story as their own. Their generous mission offering poured into Rocksmithclub.org, providing Mikael with a lifeline of support. Every dollar translated into tangible change – tuition fees ensuring his continued education, food and school supplies easing his daily burdens, extracurricular activities nurturing his talents, and emotional support healing his wounded spirit.
Pr. Carlos message to Mikael…Help is coming. Be strong and courageous.

(VII. Mikael’s Transformation)** Today, the scared and silent boy who once roamed the streets is but a distant memory. Mikael’s eyes, once clouded with despair, now sparkle with mischief and hope. He excels in his studies, his natural curiosity rekindled. His guitar, a gift from the school, has become his constant companion, its music a reflection of his newfound joy. He embraces every opportunity with open arms, eager to learn, to grow, and to give back to the community that embraced him.
(VIII. A Call to Action)** Mikael’s journey is a testament to the power of compassion and the transformative impact of support. But his story is not unique. Countless children remain trapped in the shadows of Hell’s Inn, yearning for a chance at a brighter future. By supporting organizations like Rocksmithclub.org and schools like Escola Crista Pequena Luz, we can ignite a spark of hope in the lives of these vulnerable children, guiding them towards a life filled with promise and opportunity. Join us in rewriting their stories, together we can end illiteracy, hunger and violence… with love grace and music.
To brighten our day, look at Mikael among the other children, wearing the worker’s vest from Project Light 👆🏻 all happy, dancing and praising God!
God spoke to me a lot when I saw this video 🥹❤ Mikael is the face of our Project, from a rejected boy, abandoned on the street, to a worker of a missions project! God is wonderful! 🙌🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
